Just Think The Podcast:
I spoke with Holly, Kristen, and Amy about my journey to wellness. I tell my story in chronological order from high school until today. I discuss the precipitating factors which contributed to my physical health and mental health decline, as well as the steps I’ve taken to recover and lead a productive, healthier life. I cover such topics as: mental health, addiction, weight gain, physical degeneration, wellness, movement, accountability, and self reflection.
Becoming Human Podcast:
I spoke with Wil Nelsen about my journey to wellness, overcoming mental health and addiction struggles, and how I’ve learned to think my way out of dark head spaces. I talk about the power of self-reflection and recognizing that my ego and my perceptions aren’t always accurate, nor do they always work in my favor. I touch a lot on compassion for others and for the person I used to be who was struggling so greatly. We discuss how we can stay accountable to ourselves and our higher goals by checking our motivations before we act.
Addict II Athlete’s Podcast:
I spoke with Coach Blu Robinson about my experiences overcoming addiction and really where all of those behaviors started. We discussed addictive eating habits, opioid addiction, alcoholism, mental illness, and how all of these factors created the perfect storm for me to be on a fast train to nowhere. I talk a lot about just how dark things became for me and how this translated into me engaging in behaviors I never thought I would be capable of. I mention factors that are driving forces in my life to keep me on the up and up and factors that inspire me to continue to tell my story and help others overcome their struggles as well.
Uncle Jon’s Arm Wrestling Show:
I was a guest on Uncle Jon’s Arm Wrestling Show on YouTube. He and I talked about the precipitating factors in my life that eventually led me to arm wrestling. I talk about the physical health and addiction struggles I faced. We also touch on the role nutrition plays in weight loss and how we can (and did) actually become addicted to food. We both have struggled with eating ultra-processed, “comfort” foods and we discuss how making a clean break from such addictive foods was really a necessity for us to regain our health and vitality.
